FINE CHINA!
The Appletree, Attleborough
It was all about Lunar New Year fun at Appletree recently.
We had a wonderful time this celebrating Chinese New Year, enjoying a delicious Chinese lunch, making lanterns, creating colourful dragons and even practising some Chinese letters – it’s very tricky!
We watched a Chinese New Year dragon dance, listened to traditional Chinese music and talked about how other cultures celebrate the Lunar New Year.

NEW YEAR, SAME FUN!
The Cornerstone, Martlesham
The children have been learning about the Chinese New Year, with puppet lion dancing, filling and pouring red rice from the Lucky envelopes and celebrating the Luna New year with some lovely colouring pictures.
The children had also been learning to say 新年快乐 (HAPPY NEW YEAR)!
ICE IS NICE!
Head Start, Ramsey
A busy week at the nursery – where the babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers enjoyed singing, dancing and looking at books.
The children have been playing so nicely together – they enjoyed turn-taking games with lots of laughs and giggles.
They also enjoyed the cold weather, as it’s the perfect opportunity to experiment, working together to break the ice to save the arctic animals and thinking of ways of melting it, by using paint brushes and warm water.
They discovered that they could see through the ice. We also spoke about Chinese New Year and practised scissor skills to make Chinese lanterns.
TEA FOR TERRIFIC!
The Beacon, Rendlesham
We were helping the children discover their confidence in doing things for themselves by offering opportunities in everyday resources. They absolutely loved making us all cups of tea!
LITTLE MASTERS!
The practitioners created opportunities for the babies to develop their fine motor skills using sensory exploration. We have some amazing pieces of art to show you all!
CLOUD NINE!
The toddlers made their very own cloud dough. We discussed the ingredients we required and took it in turns to mix it all in.
The children were fascinated with the end result. They then went on to make funny little faces using the dough. Lots of language interaction in a great session.
